Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Oct 19 that Russian forces launched multiple waves of 16 ballistic missiles and more than 200 drones of various types at Ukraine in the early hours of the day, including jet-powered Shahed drones, damaging more than 10 energy facilities across 11 regions and cutting power to at least 550,000 households, with repair crews working at the sites.
Zelensky said on social media that Ukraine this time "once again received no warning from its allies," and that Ukrainian and US experts are investigating the reasons for the absence of warning. The strikes killed 1 person and injured 8 in Kyiv, damaging civilian facilities including a subway station, private medical institutions and schools. US Secretary of State Rubio on Oct 19 denied that the United States had suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine, saying it "was never interrupted."
