Tunisia's oil and gas output keeps falling in 2026; energy independence index drops to 32%

[Attaqa] Tunisia's oil and gas production continued to decline, dragging down its energy independence index, while electricity output kept rising, according to recent figures obtained by Attaqa's energy research unit. The energy independence index — the share of domestic demand covered by available supplies — fell to 32% from the start of the year through the end of August, compared with 36% a year earlier, the figures showed.
