Mt.Gox civil rehabilitation trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi, with court approval, has extended the creditor repayment deadline from October 31, 2026 to October 31, 2027. According to Foresight News, the extension decision was announced on October 16, with the reason being the need to complete the remaining repayments "to the extent reasonably practicable." For creditors who have completed the necessary procedures and whose repayment process has no issues, the base repayment, early lump-sum repayment and intermediate repayment have been largely completed. Mt.Gox went bankrupt in February 2014 after losing approximately 850,000 bitcoins due to a security breach, and later recovered approximately 200,000.
