UN launches insurance scheme offering up to $40 million for early disaster action

[WAM] The United Nations has launched a new insurance scheme providing up to $40 million in additional funding to help vulnerable households and communities protect their homes, food supplies and livelihoods before natural disasters strike, particularly when simultaneous emergencies strain available resources, WAM reported. According to WAM, the scheme is designed to put funding in place ahead of a disaster for early action.
