[The Information] White & Case is "having to hold back" its rollout of one of the newest legal assistants made by AI startup Legora because lawyers are hesitant about using so-called AI agents, according to Isabel Parker, the law firm's chief innovation officer. Parker said a gradual rollout would ensure lawyers feel confident using the new agent, which can handle more complex legal work than the Legora agent lawyers currently use. She described lawyers as "skeptical," "time-poor" and "risk averse," with a strong conviction that their expertise is artisanal. Legora vice president of engagement Jillian Burnett said at the same event that the firm's lawyer client base is "very skeptical" and "very busy," and that Legora "didn't appreciate that fatigue enough." Parker said White & Case is investing "significant amounts" in AI tools and that 90% of its staff uses Legora products to some extent, with some tasks saving as much as 80% of the time previously required. Legora said it recently crossed $200 million in annualized recurring revenue.
