[The Information] Foundry, a startup founded less than a year ago, has raised a new round totaling $100 million to build automated factories, the company told The Information exclusively. Marlinspike Partners led the Series A round, with Khosla Ventures, which led Foundry's seed round, participating. According to Foundry, its factories are designed around AI-powered robots rather than slotting robots into existing production lines; the robots are organized into work cells focused on skills such as cabling, fastening and precise placement, rather than making a particular product.
