Bitcoin whales have added nearly 86,000 BTC since mid-September

On-chain data shows that wallets holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC have accumulated a total of 85,916 BTC since September 18, worth about $7.1 billion at current prices, while U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw continued outflows over the same period. Statistics from Santiment and CoinSwitch use consistent methodology, both showing that whales have continued to accumulate since mid-September. On the ETF side, the week ended October 16 saw net outflows of $228.6 million, following net outflows of $681 million the prior week, for a combined two-week total of about $910 million. Bitcoin was trading near $82,500 on the evening of the 19th, up about 1.4% from the previous day's close and holding the $80,000 level; Ethereum was at $2,423.
