Attaqa report: US retreats from oil refining as Asia, Middle East and Africa expand capacity

[Attaqa] The global refining sector is undergoing profound shifts, with US domestic refining capacity declining while some countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa move to build and expand their own refining facilities, according to an Attaqa report. Refineries are a main source of fuel for the power, shipping and manufacturing sectors, and outages or output cuts could cause economic disruption, the report said.
