Egypt to buy wind power for 25 years from two firms under 1.8 GW projects

[Attaqa] Egypt issued official decisions on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, approving power purchases from two companies under two wind projects with a combined capacity of 1.8 gigawatts in the Ras Shukeir and Gulf of Suez areas of Red Sea governorate, with a 25-year purchase term, according to Attaqa. The cabinet approved granting the golden licence to Shadwan Wind Energy and Shukeir Wind Energy to implement the two projects.
